Author Mark Twain famously called golf "a good walk spoiled." Anglebrook member Masashi Katayama would disagree heartily. Katayama walked and carried his clubs for 72 holes over a single day in June--breaking the previous club record of 54 holes in a day and becoming the charter member of the Anglebrook Solstice Club. Next year he wants company on the longest day of the year, and hopes other members will join him in a feat that took him over 14 hours, one step at a time. No. 5 is a stunning visual from the tee box, but be careful not to lose your focus. It’s a rollercoaster ride from start to finish, from the downhill tee shot to the wildly undulating green—one of the most severe on a golf course filled with challenging green complexes.
